Within the Afrikan Nationalist tradition, many Africans in America (I reject/resent the name African/Black-American) view continental Africa as 1 Nation.

Nation = 1 family

Multiple families = 1 clan

Multiple clans = 1 tribe

Multiple tribes = 1 Nation

The children of the enslaved Africans here in the Americas, still count themselves as members of this Family/Nation. As such, we don’t recognize the borders that were drawn throughout the African continent, by European colonizers.
